With 25 years of experience, Maru began her career at Leo Burnett Mexico before moving to their Chicago office, where she joined Lápiz, Leo Burnett’s Hispanic arm. While at Leo Burnett, she worked across LATAM, U.S. Hispanic, and General Market segments. As P&G’s group Creative Director, Maru helped expand Burnett’s P&G portfolio of clients and helped launch award-winning campaigns. She continued her career at FCB and We Believers before joining TDA_Boulder in 2023, serving as Creative Director and the Art Direction and Design lead until the end of 2024. Maru has collaborated with an extensive roster of clients, including P&G, Kellogg’s, Corona, McDonald’s, Disney, Toys “R” Us, Chase Bank, Allstate, United Healthcare, Feeding America, Purina, Jack Daniel’s, Coca-Cola, Barefoot Wines, FirstBank, Daiya Foods, Del Real Foods, Purely Elizabeth, TrüFrü, Champion Pet Foods (Orijen, Acana), Christy Sports, Rise Against Suicide, KeHE, and Ibotta among others. Her work has earned recognition at the Cannes Lions Festival, D&AD, The One Show, Clio, LIA, Webby awards, New York Festivals, AICP, Epica, Effies, Shark Awards, The Wave, El ojo, El sol, USH idea awards and FIAP. Additionally, her projects have been featured in Lürzer’s Archive and Communication Arts.
